Shanghai got its very own piece of movie fame with the release of ‘Shanghai Calling’ – an independently produced film directed by Daniel Hsia. It tells the story of Sam Chao, played by American Korean actor Daniel Henney (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and Amanda (Eliza Coupe – Happy Endings/Community) as their rom-com romp unfolds throughout the streets of Shanghai.

Sam is a Chinese American who doesn’t speak Chinese and has never set foot in China. Whilst, Amanda is a long-term American expat fluent in Mandarin and works as a relocation specialist. It’s a clash of cultures, a clash of relationships and a clash of work ethics.
